Well crafted online applications can be a great tool for medical research! Case Study 1: International Doctors' SurveyThe National Health Service in the United Kingdom relies heavily on immigrant doctors. Around a third of all doctors in the NHS graduated outside the UK. Although the assumption has been that the better financial rewards that the NHS offered compared to their home countries was what attracted these doctors to the UK, no scientific studies were done to refute or prove this. Inforemedy developed an online survey using unique markers to improve accuracy whilst avoiding duplicate submissions. The software analysed these results in ‘real-time’ although the respondents were blinded to any such result that may introduce bias. The results obtained by our survey has been published by a World Health Organisation (WHO) journal here. Case Study 2: National Study of Doctors' Confidence levelsJunior doctors acquire a range of practical skills and knowledge after they leave medical school, whilst working in hospitals or clinics. Such learning is not standardised and some may acquire more skills than others. We have built this survey website that analyses such differential knowledge in diabetes. The project roadmap also plans for online learning tools to rectify such differences. |
