Diabetes is one of the biggest killers in the world and therefore training young doctors to be diabetes specialists is very important. The Young Diabetologists Forum is an organisation of such trainees across the UK.  YDF’s original website was built on proprietary software which have information in a ‘static’ format, but adding fresh content and keeping in touch with its members was done manually.

Inforemedy built a new website with a number of community features including designated members’ area, automated newsletters and a simple form for addition of new content. A number of RSS feeds are integrated to the website to give YDF members up-to-date information from a number of medical journals. As the YDF organises a number of training events, we have designed online registration system that links with the membership database. Content can be edited by pre-designated editors directly from the ‘front –end’. This website has had over 2 million hits and the organisation’s membership has doubled since the introduction of the re-designed portal. We have also ensured the website is on top of Google’s list for most common search terms related to the organisation!
